In a two part Valentine’s Day special of Elder Hour Juliet and Chelsea dissect the alluring power of roses. They discuss ancient Iranian rose goddesses, the secret language of roses, medicinal properties of roses, how to use roses for magick, and the thornier aspects of this not so delicate flower.
Chelsea’s Self Love/Attraction Bath:
Pink bath bomb and pink roses for self love
and/or Red bath bomb and red roses for attraction/passion
Rose quartz
Clear quartz
White or pink wine for self love/red for attraction/passion
Pink Himalayan salt
Hold the rose quartz in your hand or over your heart and go into a meditative state. Once you are there begin to visualize a rose bud. Take your time imagining this rose slowly and unapologetically opening. If visualization is bumpy/difficult for you or you’re a beginner; guided meditations of blooming flowers are very popular so you may be able to find an audio on YouTube or Spotify. I first learned of blooming meditation exercises when I was in my hypnobirthing class preparing to give birth so this meditation exercise is also great for expectant mothers and those wanting to welcome fertility and abundance into their lives.
Juliet's Rose Banishing Floor Wash:
Rose
Cloves
Blue Vervain
Cascara Sagrada
Butchers Broom
Rue
Green Sage
In a pot fill with 5-6 cups of water, bring to boil, add all ingredients except the rose. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain and let cool. Fill a jar with this water and add rose petals dried. Let sit in a cool space for 3 days. Use to clear away negativity, evil forces in a home by using it to wash your floors.
